About Us
Helix sleep designs and manufactures personalized mattresses in-house in Phoenix, AZ, using science-backed recommendations tailored to individual sleep preferences.
Founded in 2015 by Jerry Lin, Kristian von Rickenbach, and Adam Tishman, Helix Sleep is based in New York City. Our mission is to address confusion over choosing the right mattress and an increasingly one-size-fits-all response by the online mattress market. Unlike competitors who offer single mattress solutions, our custom sleep quiz recommends mattresses tailored to how you sleep at night, which has been studied to help you sleep longer and more comfortably each night.
Each of our three mattress collections is designed and assembled at our Arizona facility, where our materials science team makes our own coils, pours our own CertiPUR-US certified foams, and handcrafts mattress components. All Helix mattresses are free of fiberglass.

Helix's proprietary Sleep Quiz, developed with input from sleep scientists and ergonomic researchers, asks you about what position you sleep in (side, back, or stomach), as well as about your body type, temperature preferences, and how firm you like your mattress. Our algorithm uses your responses to recommend specific mattress models from Helix's range of over 20+ options. Over 10 million people have taken the Helix mattress quiz, and we update our quiz at least annually to reflect real customer input.
Our mattresses have been tested in multiple sleep studies that consistently show that switching to a Helix Mattress designed for your sleep style and preferences results in better rest, and we update this data at least annually.
