How to Choose Between a Helix Standard and Helix LUXE.

At Helix we offer two different mattress lines - Helix Standard and Helix LUXE. Every mattress we sell uses high quality materials and is powered by our proprietary sleep algorithm to provide top line comfort. But for customers interested in something a little more premium (and expensive), our Helix LUXE line features advanced sleep technology.

Our goal is always to provide the best possible night’s sleep specific to your needs, and your budget. Below is an in-depth overview comparing both our Helix Standard and Helix LUXE lines to help in your decision.

LUXE Upgrade Features:

  • Zoned Lumbar Support Coils

  • Each Helix LUXE mattress features an 8” individually pocketed coil unit that has zoning technology built into the coils. The coils underneath your shoulders provide a softer feel, while the coils under your hips provide a firmer feel to help cradle your body and align your spine. The zoning provides best in class support in the places you need it most. And better spine alignment is associated with less pain.

Additionally, the Helix LUXE mattress features a coil unit with edge support so you do not get the feeling of sliding off the mattress when you sit on the edge.

    Helix Standard Comparison:

The Helix Standard mattress features a 6” individually pocketed coil unit that does not have zoning, but is rather consistent throughout the entire mattress. The Helix Standard does feature coils with edge support, but not quite as premium - call them 75% as good as on the Helix LUXE.

  • Premium Quilted Pillow Top

  • We use a Premium Quilted Pillow Top on the very top of each Helix LUXE to provide that plush hotel top layer feel with a smooth touch. This Pillow Top layer actually features additional foam cushioning to provide comfort, but not sink.

Additionally, the Pillow Top cover features an ultra breathable design to increase airflow into the mattress to regulate temperature and keep you from overheating at night.

    Helix Standard Comparison:

The Helix Standard mattresses feature a Two Touch Design Cover that also helps with airflow. The Helix Standard mattresses do not come with any Pillow Top.

  • Additional Comfort Layers
  • The Helix LUXE is 14” tall and features six layers and high density foams to provide durability, comfort, and support. Foam density is usually a good proxy for resiliency, and the Helix LUXE is top line in that regard. It also features a Gel Visco layer for pressure relief in addition to the Memory Plus Foam, Helix Dynamic Foam and High-Grade Polyfoam.

    Helix Standard Comparison:

The Helix Standard mattresses feature 4 layers (plus a cover) and is 10” tall. These mattresses feature a mix of Memory Plus Foam, Helix Dynamic Foam and High-Grade Polyfoam.
